1952 Amsterdam born artist studied microbiology however he is currently working as designer and photographer. Over the years he has held several solo photography and lighting design exhibitions and also participated collective ones.
One of his latest projects is embodying a series of images of majestic seagulls along canals of Amsterdam. The combination of air acrobatics of seagulls with the background of the ancient city results in unique images of Amsterdam. Some of the artworks of the project is acquired by Rijksmuseum Amsterdam for the museum collection.
“Most people consider seagulls as a plague but they are impressed once confronted with their acrobatic skills”, says Gerard Schoone.
