His passion for photography started in 2002 next to his profession as mechanic engineer. Okan Yilmaz has been awarded several times in national and international competitions and was honored to AFIAP (Artiste FIAP) by FIAP (Fédération de Internationale deI’Art Photographique ).
The artist mainly photographs human and narrates their story. He uses wide-angle lenses with the purpose of “being in the centre of his heroes’ life.” It is the way of the artist to understand and to touch their feelings. He believes that his photography has a soul through this approach.
The photographer presented two solo exhibitions in Turkey and Bulgaria and his artworks have taken place in several international and national collective exhibitions.
Yilmaz is an active member of several photography associations and also the founder and the chairman of Kutahya Evliya Celebi Photography Association where he shares his knowledge in photography with the members.
