He was born in Antakya (Antioch) in 1970. His interest in photography started while he was studying law at the university. His success in photography brought him becoming the first photographer of Atlas in 1993. Atlas is the first travel and geography magazine of Turkey. Nuraydin shared his knowledge of photography with the readers in his own column. In the mean time he was the writer and the photographer of the travel pages of Cosmopolitan magazine in Turkey for 5 years.
Between the years of 2001 and 2011 he had worked for the National Geographic Turkey and was Executive Editor of the magazine when he stopped to work.
He has prepared and edited countless of books, booklets and CD’s over the years.
His photography contributed as local consultant to National Geographic’s Istanbul and Western Turkey guide-book. Also, his works have been published in many countries including Japan, Europe and USA.
Nuraydin has held several exhibitions in France, Greece, Turkey, Spain, USA (Washington D.C, Kansas). His long-term project on Kurdish Nomads was accepted to the permanent collection of the Wichita State University Anthropology Museum.
Addition to his career in photography he is organizing photography tours in Turkey and around the world in the context of his Terra Photo Tours project. He has also have another side profession as a photojournalist. Nuraydin is the founding partner of Istanbul Photography Workshops and licensed tour guide in five languages.
